Leah and Max met on karaoke night at a bar in downtown Edmonds. They were friends for a few years before Max asked Leah on a their first date, which happened to be for Valentine’s Day. He planned a big night for them, including oysters and steak, drinks and dancing. He clearly knew from the get-go that Leah deserves such special treatment. Since then, they celebrate every anniversary by singing karaoke love songs to each other, to commemorate how they first met. In just a few weeks they will have a new anniversary date, but I have a feeling there will be more singing involved and the tradition will remain.
Leah and Max chose to have their engagement photos taken down at Brackett’s Landing in Edmonds, Leah’s (and my) hometown, on a lovely summer evening. The tide was high, so we didn’t have too much beach to work with for part of it, but we were able to find a few other spots that still felt off the grid and away from the crowds.
A woman in love is all smiles…and Max can make Leah smile no matter what. Such a sweet moment. 🙂
Max has such a big personality and is very energetic. I love when Leah can get him to crack up!
I really like when couples have special props for their engagement sessions – it adds a fun design element and helps tell a story. Leah and Max go crabbing and fishing together, so this is kind of perfect. 😀
Leah and I went to the same high school and played in the basketball program together, but we haven’t seen each other in yearrrrsss! I was so ecstatic when she and Max asked me to be their wedding photographer. They were an absolute blast to chat with during our initial consultation, and it was so sweet to see them together during their engagement shoot. These two lovebirds are getting married at the end of August, and I can’t wait. Leah and Max, if your engagement session is any indication of how your wedding day will be, we are going to have a fantastic time and capture some beautiful moments. You two rock! 🙂
