This post (and the two that will follow) has been a long time coming. Back in August I took three of my amazing girlfriends to my family’s beach home in Gig Harbor for a weekend of glamour (and good eats, of course). The weekend had a few purposes: quality time with my girlfriends, beach time, and creativity. With a summer full of weddings and portraits, I wanted to take some time to photograph my friends simply to try something new, something stress-free (because it was for me), and to motivate myself to keep improving.
To say that we had an amazing time would be an understatement, but I’ll go with that.
My girls Leanne, Jennifer, and Yessica not only were my models for the weekend, but also my makeup artist (Yessica is an artiste), hair dressers, and assistants. They each played a different role when one of the other gals was being photographed, not to mention that they were constantly cheering each other on. So fun. 🙂
Leanne was the first to be photographed, so she gets the first blog post. 🙂 Leanne is a fellow UW alumnae and communications grad, so we always have fun talking about that topic. We are really good at instantaneously coming up with song lyrics to go with any conversation. Leanne is a go-getter and very self-motivated – after college she decided to try her hand in the financial world as an advisor (which surprised me at first, since she was a com major), and she took class after test after exam to achieve her goals. Not to mention she goes to, like, every networking event that exists in Seattle and finds ways to sincerely connect with everyone she meets. Today, she is kickin’ butt, her clients love her, and I am so proud of her. She is an incredible friend who strives to bring people together and have fun. She is a blast to travel with. Oh, and she loves loves loves pandas. So, without further ado, here are some of my favorite images of Leanne from her, what I’m calling, “location glamour” session.
I love the dress that Leanne chose. I encouraged the gals to find something “breezy” for the beach, but also classic and feminine.
I just love her smile!
Leanne, you are beyond gorgeous. Thank you so much for being one of my weekend super models. SO. MUCH. FUN! I love you!
Here’s a slideshow if you want to see more photos. 🙂
