Kevin brings out Kerry’s playful side, as her dad mentioned in his toast to them on their wedding night. The usually-reserved Kerry was suddenly popping up with Kevin in fun and silly pictures on Facebook, which tipped off her dad that there was something special about this guy. And indeed, there was. Kerry and Kevin travelled to Hawai’i after they’d been dating for six months, and it went so well that they began talking of their future together…and found positive ways to integrate their lives. They do practically everything together, from traveling frequently, to cooking dinner every night (they love taco night, apparently Kevin makes homemade tortillas – I expect my dinner invite in the mail soon! 😉 ), to playing soccer and volleyball, to competing in whose FitBit shows the most steps at the end of the day. These two are wonderful partners in life, and their wedding day couldn’t have been a more beautiful way for them to officially join together.
On a (super sunny and hot!) day in June, Kerry and Kevin said their vows under the trees in Parsons Gardens in Queen Anne, and continued their celebration at Canlis. They were surrounded by family and friends who all clearly think so highly of them both and wish them nothing but the best.
Kerry and Kevin, photographing your wedding day and working with you two was so special and so much fun. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your day. I hope you had a wonderful time on your honeymoon in the Dominican Republic!
Kerry started her day getting ready at her parents’ home in Seattle (while Kevin and his boys prepped across town). I arrived in the afternoon to photograph details, including this lovely paper suite by Paper Delights. Kerry’s mom had some fun silver pieces, as well as some peonies right from her garden, that I could work with!
I loved Kerry’s wedge heels by Seychelles – an especially good choice since she’d be getting married in a grassy park!
Kerry chose a gorgeous Martina Liana dress, which she chose from Calla Bridal in Seattle. The asymmetric sweetheart neckline was so unique and simply stunning on her!
Kerry, go onnnn… Hair and makeup by Swink Style Bar in University Village. She looks like a queen.
Kerry and Kevin opted to have a first look before their ceremony, which is great because then it allowed us plenty of time for portraits and family photos prior to all the big events. We traveled to Parsons Gardens for this special moment.
…and the two lovebirds couldn’t have been happier to see each other.
I’d say Kevin is a pretty proud and adoring man right about now!
There are some really neat stairs in Queen Anne just below Parsons Gardens, so I took the bride and groom on a little journey for some portraits of just the two of them. It was such a warm day, so it was also really nice to have some shade for a bit!
As mentioned earlier, Kevin sure knows how to make Kerry laugh. And she was nothing but smiles on this day!
I mean, I’ll just come out and say it – my clients are friggin’ super models, these two included!
I love when a man helps his lady carry the train of her wedding dress. 🙂
Seriously, can’t get enough of that Martina Liana dress… and Kevin has his GQ looks down!
The fellas lookin’ super studly in their Vera Wang suits.
These bouquets looked and smelled divine… creations by Ravenna Bloom.
Such a fun gang to hang out with!
The early evening ceremony at Parsons Gardens was still very bright and sunny – gotta love Seattle summers! (I sure do.) 🙂
After Kerry and Kevin became husband and wife, we headed to Canlis on the other side of Queen Anne for the reception…and some amazing views of Lake Union and Gas Works Park (and UW off in the distance!).
Kerry’s mom took the lead on planning the reception decor, and when I walked in with the bridal party we were all in awe of how beautiful everything looked.
For a special treat, we got to take a few photos up on the rooftop at Canlis!
And of course we had to get in front of the sign. Pretty sure every car that drove by honked their congratulations. 🙂
If you haven’t been to Canlis yet, put it on your bucket list because oh. my. goodness. Heaven in every bite. (Side note: best wedding vendor meal I’ve ever had, for surrrre! And the service was fabulous. Thanks, guys!)
This classic and delectable cake was created by Mike’s Amazing Cakes.
Canlis has a piano player in the main dining room, as well as one for special events upstairs. This is Jason Lux Music, and he was amazing. I love hearing contemporary songs played on the piano.
I’ll end with these images of Kerry and Kevin dancing together for the first time as husband and wife. So. Much. Love. 🙂
Congratulations, Kerry and Kevin! Your wedding was such an incredible day and I’m so glad you two are so happy together.
