It was New Year’s Eve of 2012 and Jeunai went out with some friends to celebrate at a club in downtown Seattle. From across the way, Teddy noticed this vivacious and beautiful woman and approached her, asking Jeunai if he could buy her a drink. She made a sassy remark before accepting, and they spent the rest of the night dancing. Just as the night was coming to a close, Jeunai stole Teddy’s phone so she could add her phone number to his contacts. Teddy didn’t let her efforts be for naught. 🙂 They planned their first date for a University of Washington Husky basketball game (Jeunai’s alma mater), and so began their sports-filled relationship.
I met Jeunai on a road trip down to Portland for a UW Alumni Association event I was photographing, where we and another colleague had plenty of time to get to know each other. Several months later when she asked me if I’d be her wedding photographer, I was absolutely thrilled. Jeunai and Teddy are hilarious and fun, and I cannot wait for their wedding next summer.
Nothing seemed more fitting for their engagement session than to visit some iconic Seattle locations.
We started at the gum wall in Post Alley, adjacent to Pike Place Market. Jeunai and Teddy are expecting a baby girl very soon, and they wanted to capture a few maternity photos amongst the bright colors.
Little baby feet will soon fit into those!
And yes, this was prior to the wall’s recent cleaning. 🙂
After a quick outfit change we headed to the Seattle Center International Fountain.
And thankfully the fountain was in full display!
We wandered over to McCaw Hall, where I may or may not have obsessed over the reflections. 🙂
Before we left Pike Place Market, Teddy picked up a colorful bouquet for Jeunai to use as a prop for some of the photos. Love those flowers!
I just think these two are so adorable together.
Sunset was nearing and Jeunai and Teddy wanted to end their session up at Kerry Park overlooking Seattle. Also – these two are huge Seahawks fans, and watching games together is one of their favorite things. They love their hometown and their Hawks…oh yeah, and each other. 🙂
Thanks for the fun day, Jeunai and Teddy! 😀
