Personal

…Do I have to pay royalties to Nike for saying that?

Hey. I’m Tara Brown. TB for short. Downtown Tara Brown for long. If you know me, you know I’ve been meaning to start this photo blog for a while. If you don’t know me – hi! *handshake* – now you do, and hopefully you’ll be glad I’m here. I’M glad to be here. And I’m sincerely grateful for all of the people, opportunities and astrological alignments that have helped me reach this point.

For the past few days I’ve been telling myself, “Tara, seriously, what are you waiting for, just start your blog!!” But then some other part of me has said, “TB, wait until your business website is up, wait until you’re done processing those 800 photos, wait until your mortgage is paid off…” =P Yeah, that side of me needs to be quiet, cuz it’s time to just do it.

So here I am! YAY!

The main purpose of my blog is to share my photos and my journey as I learn and grow into hopefully one of the best photographers you and your mom have ever seen! …is that settin’ the f-stop too high? Okay, maybe the best photographer MY mom has ever seen…she’s my biggest fan and can’t wait to be my assistant, she says. Talk about love. But yeah, that’s pretty much it. I mean, you’ll probably hear about lots more than photography, cuz I love sharing stories, especially funny ones. I say lots of funny things. I wish more people would quote me. Feel free to do so if you ever get the urge.

Speaking of quotes…I will close with a few that have motivated me throughout the years to go after my dreams…

“Follow your bliss. Find where it is, and don’t be afraid to follow it.” – Joseph Campbell

“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” – Howard Thurman

“Your talent is God’s gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God.” – Beah Richards

“The only thing standing between me and greatness is me.” – Woody Allen

Alright, that’s enough – can’t use all my good ones in one post!

Now…on with the show!
